Web-based training (WBT) refers to training that can be delivered anytime in any part of the globe to someone with Internet access.

There are several benefits of WBT such as:

Convenience:

With a WBT course, a learner can take the training anywhere at any time, provided he has Internet access. A learner can also learn at his own pace and convenience of time within a training time frame.

Cost:

WBT courses are cheaper if done online as they completely eliminate the cost of traveling and other related costs. It is also more economical since it can be distributed worldwide and so is not limited to a room size. Besides, WBT can be easily updated and “recycled” with additional training material.

Consistency:

WBT provides the same quality of training to students all over the world and across an organization, thereby promising standardized training.

Following is a quick way to centrally disseminate what information is accessed via Internet on the fly in one simple process – through a portable gateway. This includes one small single executable file (.exe) in zipped format sent via attachment or to download to end users.

One exe. file can bypass the need of using a separate web browser (Safari, Firefox, etc.) altogether. All the end user needs do is execute the file/interface that has preset static , Internet web pages or self contained files to view or guide the end user through desired tasks.

Since all information on the pages are centrally controlled through the executable application changes can then be made on the fly and by the end user simply re-clicking the page link with the end user then immediately seeing the changes. Live streaming, videos, etc. can also be easily controlled and assessed. The usefulness lies in it’s affordability and  simplicity, especially with older adult viewers but anyone can benefit. It also provides the ability to bypass potential direct browser limitations and tracking. The concept of a  gateway is not however this approach being very fluid in both content and structural changes and more cost effective and easier to transport/ launch than other gateways. Simplicity in every area from concept to finished application.

The .exe cannot be used directly from android or iphone mobile phone devices as is, giving you an extra layer of security with clients, staff, etc. The communication is desktop based minimizing potential mobile phone hacking of sensitive data, etc.

This exe. app approach was used at Wachovia Bank for training of middle and upper management on use of their new roll out reporting software.
